5 day recap, and some mind dump
Haven't written in a long time, thru no fault of my own. It's my home computer, it's playing up just to piss me off. And what a wonderful job it is doing!!
5 days ago... Friday night. Went to the Moonlight cinema. Been wanting to go to one of those for the past 5 years, finally got there. Watched The Motorcycle Diaries. A wonderful film, very touching, and unlike other biopics these days, was not overdone. It was about Che Guevara, before he was a known as a revolutionist. It is based on his novel The Motorcycle Diaries, which captured his trip thru Latin American when he was about 23.
There was something about watching a good movie outdoors, under the beautiful summer night sky, that even a cycnic like me have to admit it's quite poetic.
After the movie, we pub crawled our way from Paddington to Haymarket. And what a great experience that was! Not just cause of the alcohol, but it's also great to change the sceneries as the night progressed.
By the time we got to Haymarket we were starving and craving fried clamps. And lucky for us, the restaurant was still opened. So we stuffed our faces, then moved across to the 3 Wise Monkeys, where I was to have my last drink of the night. I realised that it was enough for me when we walked all the way back up to Paddington on a alcohol-induced urge to find a tattoo place! And again, lucky for us, no tattoo parlour was opened til 3.30am. So all's well ends well.
Saturday, with only about 3-4 hours sleep the night/dawn before, I dragged my hungover ass home to meet with Janie so we could get our act together and finally organise the smaller details for our Europe trip. The more we got into it, the more I forgot about my hangover, and the more I got excited about the trip to Europe!! It's like 6 weeks away!! Yippeeeeeeeee
Sunday was pretty much a veg day. Went to Gosford for a nice lunch, and was home to watch the cricket by 3pm. It was only an ING match, the last one of the dismal season for the Blues. But since all the international players are back, NSW thrashed VIC by more than 100 runs. Thanks largely to one near invincible Glenn McGrath. 35 and still going strong.
Monday night went to see Closer. Very good film again. The lines are very direct, no bullshit, very raw. I didn't think established actors like Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Clive Owen and Natalie Portman were capable of deliverying something a bit left of the centre and still get it spot on. I'm very impressed indeed.
And yesterday. I woke up shitty. I dunno why, and I dun care. I'm just enjoying being angry and short fused at the moment. It's good for my personal development, or something life coach psycho babble like that. I'm very comfortable in this anger-bubbling-just-under-the-surface phase. Thank you all for royally pissing me off with everything they do. THANK YOU SO MUCH
